sjön / the lake, 2024

”Sjön” is a sculptural and performative story about water, about a grandmother, and about understanding and making peace with immaterial states between life and death. Water is the origin of life; where there is water, there is life. Water cannot be held — its matter holds both color and transparency. It slips between the material and the immaterial. My grandmother loved water, the sea, and the lake. For me, it’s frightening.
